In order to ensure that the treatment is successful, various factors need to be taken into account when selecting an infusion system:

• duration of the infusion in the particular case
• the type of infusion pump (portable or stationary)
• flow rate of the administered medication
• stability of the catheter¹

The InfiltraLong developed by PAJUNK® is the only wound infiltration catheter that can be combined with all commercial pumps. The wide range of catheter and perforation lengths available makes it suitable for many different requirements and areas of use. In comparison with three other commercial catheters the InfiltraLong performed extremely well because of its numerous fine infusion perforations, which are closely and evenly spaced in the perforation segment.² This ensures an even distribution of the anaesthetic.

As an alternative to the standard version, PAJUNK® now provides the InfiltraLong Forte catheter – a thicker-walled and thus more robust catheter that is particularly suitable for applications in the vicinity of joints such as post-operative analgesia after total knee replacement (TKR).

The perforation marking enables to see at a glance whether the whole of the perforated segment is actually inside the wound.

According to the study the length of the perforation section is also outstanding. Flow resistance when diffusing through the lateral openings is low, therefore the infusion reaches its target by the fastest and most direct route. 

Stable flow of the anesthetic   Compared with three other standard catheters, the PAJUNK® wound infiltration catheter has the largest inner lumen and the thinnest walls. Together with the stainless steel helical coil, this improves the flow of anaesthetic.

		Kink protection included   The additional kink protection at the catheter hub enables to secure the anaesthetic flow and therefore a maximum freedom of movement and earlier patient mobilisation.

		Built-in stainless steel helical coil – largest inner lumen   Compared with three other commercial catheters, the InfiltraLong wound infiltration catheter has the thinnest walls and, at the same time, the largest inner lumen. Together with the stainless steel helical coil, this improves the continuous flow of anaesthetic, also under tissue strain.

Echogenic and radiopaque   The built-in stainless steel helical coil means that the catheter is both, highly visible under ultrasound and radiopaque.
